Education official happy with 100 percent transition in his area

By Enock Okong’o

Kenyenya Sub-county Director of Education George Ouma has expressed gladness at the progress of the 100 percent transition from primary to secondary schools in the county.

Speaking at Kenyenya town, the officer said that the mop up has achieved tremendous success and attributed it to the cooperation from individual parents and the public.

“Our parents have internalized the message of providing all children with quality education through chiefs’ barazas and are now good partners in enhancing desirable results,” he said.

The director appealed to the few parents who had not taken their children to school to learn from their colleagues and follow suit.

“Let parents who have tasted the sweetness of education be our ambassadors in the villages by sensitizing their colleagues,” he advised.

He praised chiefs and their assistants, whom he said have been very instrumental in the fight against illiteracy in the area.

The director asked head teachers and principals of schools to liaise with chiefs so that they could attend their barazas to meet and share with parents the problems each party faces.

Concerning the completion of CBC classrooms, Ouma said the Sub-county had achieved the hundred percent target of the construction in Phase One.

“We are now waiting for more instructions from the Ministry about other plans,” he said.

He said the CBC is the best for the country because it provides practical and hands-on solutions in the daily life of the learner.

He appealed to parents and other education stakeholders to support it because it is in tandem with vision 2030.
