It was pomp and colour at Nyamataro Primary school in Nyamira county after Ena Coach Bus company handed over two class rooms as compensation.
The compensation came one year after one of the company’s buses lost control and rammed into the classrooms demolishing them.
The school Management Committee then sought legal redress and the company was ordered to construct the damaged classrooms.
According Ena Coach Manager, Richard Mogire, the company partnered with Directline Insurance company to compensate the school.
“The construction of the two class rooms cost Ksh.1.4 million to complete,” he said.
Speaking at the school on Friday during the handing over ceremony, Directline Insurance company Director, Mr. Paul Waweru said that the company will continue to better their services by remaining prompt and promising to their clients.
“Our main aspiration is to serve our clients with dedication and urgency,” he assured.
The company’s Public Relations Officer Christine Kachiwa, advised institutions and individuals to insure their property with established companies to enable them get prompt compensation in the event of an accident.
Nyamira North sub county Director of Education, Madam Clare lauded the school management committee for embracing legal procedure.
“We are in an enlightened society where we are encouraged to apply acceptable channels whenever we wanted to be vindicated,” she said.
She urged asked the school’s Head teacher Mrs. Margaret Omariba to source funds that will help them to erect a perimeter wall around the school for the safety of the pupils.
Madam Clare expressed gratitude to God that during the accident, no pupil was hurt.
