The police in Nyamira County have started investigation on the cause of the death of a Form Three student from St. Peters Nyakemincha High School

The father of the deceased, Mr. Vincent Nyaboga, has said he was informed that his son was among some students who fell sick in school, whereby he was notified by the school management in a report that an urgent medical attention was dire.

When he reached the school, he found the son missing and school administration could not disclose his sons whereabouts.

Later on, he father was told that the body of the son had been found lying near a river outside the school compound.

“I was tongue-tied when I reported to the school, only to be told that my son’s body had been taken to the hospital mortuary,” briefed the puzzled father.

The police from Nyamira positively identified the body as that of the 16-year old Daniel Nyaboga, a Form Three student at St. Peters Nyakemincha Secondary School in Nyamira county.

His body is being preserved at Nyamira Teaching and Referral Hospital Mortuary awaiting postmortem.

When Education News visited the school, the gates were under tight security as the school staff remained tight lipped. The watch man was seen asking some persistent parents to go back home.

The School principal declined to comment anything about the death, saying until police investigation was accomplished.
