Director, South Eastern Kenya University (SEKU) Wote campus, Professor Harrison Maithya, has called upon colleges to offer programmes that meet the set standards of TVETA for easy transition to higher learning.
Speaking at his Wote campus office, Maithya said some skills being offered in some colleges may hinder the learners when they want to advance their studies in other higher learning institutions, calling upon all those in colleges to advance their skills even after they secure jobs
“Let us stick to the guidelines and standards offered set by TVETA. Our learners need to be useful people in the society. They also need to advance their knowledge immediately they clear middle colleges or in future,” said Maithya.
The professor encouraged parents to make sure their children attain higher levels of education challenging them that money is never collected but it’s looked for and that there is no time money will be enough.
He called upon residents to make use of local institutions adding that they cut many expenses and offer all the courses they are going to pursue in a far-off institution.
“The SEKU building is not a flower, let’s make use of it and ensure we enroll our children there. For those who are transitioning especially college graduates kindly join us we offer international standards of education and that’s why they are called universities,” said Professor.
