There was jubilation among parents, teachers and pupils at various parts of Kisii and Nyamira Counties after the release of the 2021 KCPE results.
In the first witnessed results, private schools did comparative better than public primary schools.
Excel Academy from Kenynya Sub-county produced the best candidate, Emmanuel Mairura who scored 422 marks.
His school Director Mr. Joseph Abuga said he expected the boy to excel because he was ever constant in the marks he scored during the routine internal examinations.
Faith Bituttu of Maxwell Academy in Sameta Sub-county followed with 419 marks and according to the school Director Mr. Fred Sunda, the result was impressive given the fact that the pupils were studying under the adverse effects of Covid-19.
From Nyamira County, Seth Green Academy performed exceptionally well.
According to the director of the school Mr. Charles Mochama Onsongo, the best candidate Kisa Onkendi, scored 416 marks, closely followed by 24 others who scored 400 marks and above.
The school registered a candidature of 47 pupils in 2021 KCPE examinations.
According to Mochama, the school had a positive deviation as it recorded the 398.8 mean score.
The grandmother to the best candidate at Seth Green Academy Mrs. Esther Gichana did not hide her happiness after the success of her grandson.
“I have been feeding him well because good food leads to better performance,” she said.
At Manga Highway Academy in Nyamira County, the best Candidate scored 411 marks to boost the school from a mean score of 357.6 up from 347.03 in 2020 results.
The school head teacher Mr. Kefah Boniface said more than ten candidates scored 400 marks and above.
The chairman of the school Pr. Yobesh Nyang’ondi attributed the good performance to the fear of God and cooperation among pupils, teachers and parents.
