As the KCSE ecaminations kick off across the country, the Kisii County Education Board has exuded confidence that the plans were done with precision to ensure a smooth running and to curb irregularities.

Speaking to this Education News at Kisii town on Sunday morning, the Education Board Chairman Prof. Henry Onderi expressed his satisfaction on the recent smoothing ending of the KCPE examinations and hoped the same will be witnessed in KCSE.

“My office is in constant consultation with the County Director of Education and the security organs on this important exercise that shapes  the future of our children,” he said.

Professor Onderi appealed to parents to guide their children well against anybody who might divert their minds from focusing on the examinations.

“I appeal to parents especially those whose children are day scholars  to be their great companions during this needful time they are taking their examinations,” he appealed.

He told candidates not to panic but instead to balance their time between controlled revision  of what they  have covered in class, good eating and right  physical exercises to keep their brains alert.

He discouraged candidates from involving themselves in drug abuse, watching football and other movies  on TV and wandering in the streets at the expense of their revision for the examinations.

“This is a lifetime transition that candidate must handle with care because they will get other things later after having succeeded in their education,” said the chairman.

He asked bar owners and church institutions that operate near schools to minimize the noise to allow candidates to concentrate on their final exams.

Speaking on behalf of parents, he wished all candidates the best, saying that their success will be the pleasure of their parents and relatives.
