Preparations for examinations in top gear in Bungoma

The preparations for the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) examinations are ongoing in Bungoma County as various schools hold examination rehearsals exercise.

Bungoma DEB Primary School Principal in Kanduyi  Constituency Mr. Tobias Khisa has confirmed that students are set and ready for the examinations come Monday and everything has been put in place to ensure smooth running of the exercise.

“We are glad to confirm that all the students who had registered to sit for the examinations this year are present and we are now a full house ready for Monday,” said a confident Khisa.

Bungoma D.E.B School has a total population of 3,405 students with 434 registered candidates, 212 being boys and 222 girls.

The students are set to sit their exams in 25 classrooms each holding between 18 to 20 students with 25 invigilators deployed to oversee the examination process.

“The examination council has sent us 25 invigilators and three supervisors who are expected to ensure the examinations run smoothly,” Khisa added.

Bungoma County commissioner Samuel Kimiti told the Education News team that he has put everything in order to ensure security of students while siting the examinations, adding that security officers will be unveiled to head teachers on Monday morning when examination containers is expected be opened.

Kimiti urged school head teachers, students and parents to follow the examination regulations put in place by the Ministry of Education to avoid exam cheating and risking arrest.

“CS Magoha has clearly directed school, supervisors and invigilators how to handle exams. I urge them to strictly follow the law to avoid dragging Bungoma into the list of shame,” Kimiti said.

Kimiti assured that all examination containers in the nine Sub-counties are manned by security officers.

Preparations are ongoing at Moi DEB Primary School, Kanduyi DEB, Kibabii Girls, Kibabii Boys, Mukhaweli Primary School and Sio Primary School.
