Nyaribari Masaba MP Hon. Ezekiel Ombaki Machogu has decried deplorable conditions under which the ECDE teachers do live and work saying these foundational teachers should be considered for a better pay.

The Legislator who is eyeing the Kisii County Gubernatorial seat, promised to better the wages of ECDE teachers in the county if elected governor in August this year.

“This is a group of teachers who do great work of molding toddlers into famous elites, but no one really appreciates their work.” The MP said.

He promised that his priority when takes over Kisii County government leadership will be to construct modern ECDE classrooms in every school to enhance conducive learning atmosphere for the small children at the foundational level.

Hon. Machogu also asked teachers to be financially organised by joining and saving in Saccos and investing in different projects in order to fix their lives after retirement.

He also advised retired teachers to use the little money they earn from their pension scheme to start table banking groups for their sustenance.

He was speaking during a funeral of Isaac Ondabu who was the son of Nyaronge Nyamwamu the former KNUT executive Secretary Gucha Branch.

The MP lauded Mrs. Esther Nyaronge, Mother to the late Ondabu, who retired from teaching more than two decades ago but still lived a happy life because of her prudent savings and investments.
