By Kambi Karani

The Teachers Service Commission has pledged to lobby for adequate funds from the national government to hire more teachers and deploy them to schools to end understaffing.

Speaking during 17th KEPSHA Annual Conference held at Sheikh Khalifa Educational Centre Hall in Mombasa County recently, Teachers Service Commission chairman, Dr. Jamleck Muturi said that the move would enhance effective teaching and learning in schools in the country.

He however said that the Commission is already aware of the teacher challenge in the country and will be addressed on the issue gradually.

Dr. Muturi also urged teachers in the country to be dedicated to their work in a bid to achieve impressive results in national examinations in their schools.

He further reiterated that head teachers are the Chief Executive Officers in their schools and they should lead by example, hence learn how to listen to their clients.
