St. Mary Goreti Shikoti Girls High School in Kakamega County is strategically reorganizing to raise its mean score to 6.5 in this year’s KCSE as compared to 5.6 in last national examinations.
The school deputy Principal Ms. Pamela Sikuku said, with discipline and determination among the students and improved infrastructure she was optimistic the school will take about 30 students to university.

Speaking to education news in her office the Deputy said in 2017 only three students managed to go university while the school mean was 3.9 but since then the school has drastically improved and is aiming at the top of the log in Kakamega central after taking the second position last year.
Sikuku said last year the school attained position two out of 24 schools in Kakamega central sub county.
Eight candidates joined university in 2019 and 2020 the school produced over 20 students who gained direct entry to various universities across the Country.
However the school which is triple streamed has 21 teachers who are not sufficient for the growing population of students in school.
Form one class alone is 330 students and need extra streams to cater for them.
