MP donates bus to school, slams CS for restricting community to use it

By Tony Wafula

Kabuchai Member of Parliament Majimbo Kalasinga has donated a 37 seater bus to Kabuchai S.A Secondary School in his constituency in a bid to ease student’s movement.

While delivering the vehicle, the MP said that the school is still new and needed a bus for students travelling to other institutions for bench-marking and for co-curricular activities.

The Ford Kenya allied MP used the opportunity to slam Education CS George Magoha for barring the community from using school buses saying NG-CDF money belongs to the community and should not be denied the chance to use them.

“This bus belongs to the school and the community at large therefore everybody should be allowed to use the bus when need arises,” Majimbo said, adding that CS Magoha should stop controlling what school buses should do since NG-CDF funds do not belong to the Ministry of Education.

The MP affirmed that the bus is fully paid by the NG-CDF and all documents will be handed over to the school management.

“We have paid a total of Sh7.1M for this bus and I have no doubt and all documents are here with us hence the bus will start operating immediately,” he assured.

On her part, school Principal Jane Simiyu lauded Kabuchai NG-CDF for honoring the promise in making sure that her school gets a school bus that will necessitate student’s academic tours that will boost their morale and performance.

She also urged the government to help the school put up modern learning facilities.

“Today is a special day for our school for receiving a school bus which will facilitate the movement of our students for academic trips and co- curricular activities,” she noted, adding that the government should help the school set up modern learning facilities like laboratories which will offer a conducive learning environment.

Kabuchai Secondary School is among new day schools within the constituency sponsored by the Salvation Army (S.A) church.
