Africa is a huge continent with many changes in its landscape and climate. It is a unique area on the globe that needs to be protected. The great variety of animal and plant species makes it very important for the ecosystem of the whole earth.
However, it is very important to pay great attention to the education of young children who immediately after school will become professionals and have a family. Every day that passes in Africa and the environment is polluted, the natural environment changes, the air, the water and the earth for the next hundred years. We as teachers must pay great attention to the education of children through the school and the environmental organizations that do a great deal of work. Young students will be able to educate their families but most importantly they will become ambassadors for a unique natural environment in Africa.
But nothing can be done too quickly, always small steps lead to very big changes in thinking and protecting the environment. Studying in recent years the environment of such a beautiful continent of Africa I find a unique place that must be saved. To do this, young children need to understand what they need to do to thrive in a pollution-free natural environment. Plastic pollution, air pollution and water pollution are important issues for young children to pay close attention to. Along with these, great importance should be given to the education of their teachers.
Real education starts with young people and with simple book presentations on the environment and education on infection and change in health and life. It is really very important to understand what is happening in the environment and for how long when it is polluted by waste and by man himself. Based on my many years of teaching in public schools and universities, I decided to write an important book on environmental education for young African children.
Such a book includes presentations related to environmental pollution with examples and many photos also examples to help children understand the importance of participating with their friends in activities that will help improve the quality of life and reduce contamination by useless objects. Making recycling teams and volunteer cleaning and protection teams for their school, the village family and then the city as a whole.
This book is mainly about educating students and young people, even older ones about the environment. It is a very important tool that can be used by future generations to become more sensitive to the environment. Through the pages of the book every student can identify the problems from the pollution of the environment and understand what is really happening in the space where he lives.
It was written especially for the children of Africa to receive a substantial and basic education from an early age that will help them and their families in the future. The book can be a basic knowledge handbook on environmental education in Africa today and in the years to come. It can be taught and integrated into teaching in elementary school and high school. But it can also be a unique handbook for environmental and social organizations in Africa.
It is definitely a unique book to raise the awareness of the young students of their families, teachers and society in such a beautiful part of the world that Africa is.
The philosophy of writing this book is initially to present the problems and causes of environmental pollution and to raise the awareness of students and adults in it. There are important photos that have been included in the book in order for students to recognize the effects and causes of environmental pollution. It is also important to mention that through the book they are asked to become groups of students through the classrooms of their school in order to participate in the cleaning of the environment in their area. Thus children acquire environmental consciousness and entity and mainly participate in its protection.
This is an important example in the future for the elderly and especially creates important role models in the family and society that are necessary to create sensitive citizens who will protect the environment and the life of their families in the future.
As a member of the University community and having taught thousands of students around the world about Physics, Chemistry and Environmental Behavior I believe my book can help young students understand the points where they could play an important role with their teachers in this beautiful part of the earth.
Collaborating with Africa Global Development for Positive Change Initiative (ADIafrica) as a representative for Greece and also as ADIafrica International Director on Strategic or Rural Educational Promotion.
My contact and my research with the beautiful environment of Africa gave me the strength to write this book about the environmental education of children, having experience from more than 40 more books that I have written in Greece. The book is written in English and in full color with examples of drawings and also with many works for the children of total 100 pages full color. The book is in the final stages of editing and will be published in Nigeria.
This is a book that dedicated to the Children of Africa and to their Teachers.
