A bright but needy student, who sat for his Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education and scored A- (minus), is appealing to well-wishers to help him raise funds to join university.
Samuel Ouma, from Butere constituency, Kakamega county schooled at St Stephens Shiatsala secondary school.
Ouma received a calling letter from University of Nairobi to study Bachelor of Education Science.
“Since I completed my KCSE examination ,I have been crushing stones and burning charcoal to raise funds. My ailing father doesn’t have money to sponsor my education,” he said.
His father, Amule Onyango said out of his ten children, only Ouma has completed secondary education. He added that he developed a problem on his leg which paralyzed him.
In his appeal, Onyango urged area MP, MCA and Kakamega governor Wycliffe Oparanya to intervene and help his son join University.
