Varsity Hospital to Attract Medical Tourism

By Malachi Motano

Kenya is being challenged to consider exploring medical tourism due to its modern state of the art health facilities, especially in the field of cancer treatment.

According to Tanzania Minister for Health, Community Development, Elderly and Children Dr. Dorothy Mwakima, with the facilities the country has, there is no need for citizens within East Africa to seek medical attention in other foreign countries.

She also noted that there is need for closer collaboration between Kenya and Tanzania in the health sector in order to ease the burden for their citizens.

The minister was speaking when she toured Kenyatta University Teaching, Research and Referral Hospital (KUTRRH).
