Parents urged to support public and private schools for quality education

Parents have been urged to enroll children in schools available around them to ease management of national exams.

According to Mr. Augustine Otiep, the Riana zone curriculum support officer, out of 27 primary schools in the zone, only one private school has been registering candidates for national exams and has also shown positive progress in the Kenya certificate for primary education.

He warned parents of failing to support schools within their region saying it may result to the downfall and closure of such institutions following a requirement by the ministry of education of a minimum of thirty candidates a school to qualify as an examination centre.

“Parents must embrace and utilize whatever available resources in the school rather than letting such institutions derail while they can positively impact in the education sector,” said Otiep.
