IBRAHIM ADAN, Moved from Bungoma to Garissa
About 13 counties were affected in the recent changes of its field staff by TSC after some county directors were swapped and a few deputies promoted.
Those affected by the changes include Laikipia County Director Loice Murei who been has been moved to Vihiga to replace Irene Njogu who retired early this year.
Isiolo TSC boss Alex Cheruiyot is now in Makueni to replace Catherine Mwenda who has been moved to Murang’a in the same capacity.
She replaced Nimrod Kimathi who has moved from Murang’a to Laikipia, while respected educationist Adan Ibrahim has been relocated to Garissa from Bungoma as the director.
Kericho Governor Prof. Paul Kiprono Chepkwony, TSC Director Staffing, Rita Wahome and then TSC County Director Kericho Rosemary Sokotian.
Ibrahim takes over from Andrew Mwanthi who has been transferred to Uasin Gishu to replace Jane Kaguda who has retired.
In Bungoma, Ibrahim’s Deputy Japheth Kariuki has been promoted to full County Director and retained in the same station.
Grace Mwangi, who has been the Deputy County Director in Baringo has been promoted to full County Director and posted to Kericho to replace Lilian Wachira who was promoted to Regional Director, Western.
The Deputy Director in Kericho Jackson Ongeto who has been acting as County Director has been moved to Murang’a in a similar capacity.
Tharaka Nithi Deputy County Director whose name Education News could not immediately establish has been promoted and moved to Isiolo as new County Director.
In Kirinyaga, the Deputy County Director Lewis Muthegi has been promoted to County Director and moved to Turkana to replace Cheruiyot Lagat who has retired.
The changes come less than one year after TSC out carried another reshuffle of its field officers which saw some officers being swapped while others were promoted.
In the previous reshuffles, Lilian Wachira, the immediate former Kericho TSC County Director was promoted and transferred to Western and is currently the new Regional Director (RD).
She replaced Laban Onono who was transferred to Eastern as Regional Director to replace Daniel Cherutoi who retired.
County Directors play a major role as per the Commission structure since they identify staffing gaps in schools within the county.
They also appoint and deploys primary school heads, in liaison with the Regional Coordinator and also appoint school principals and other administrators among other roles.
