The Anglican Church of Kenya (ACK) in Nandi County will facilitate education for teenage girls who dropped out of school due to teenage pregnancies during the period of Covid-19 which prompted closure of learning institutions.

According to the Kapsabet Diocese Bishop, Dr Paul Korir, they sat as a church and deliberated on how to assist such drop-outs. “We  are set to take them back to school to pick from where they left in order to achieve their dreams,” he said. Dr. Korir was speaking during the launch of the scholarships at ACK St Barnabas church.

“We saw it good as a church to come up with the initiative to save the school drop-outs and enable them pursue their future dreams,” said Bishop Korir.

The church has also been sponsoring very needy and vulnerable students to pursue their dreams as a way of giving back to the society in different ways.

The Bishop said that the church has also planned to support financially a total of 45 widows across Nandi county whose businesses were seriously affected by Covid-19 pandemic.

He urged other sponsors and well-wishers to join the church in accomplishing this noble work through their support, adding that politicians should also do the same. He said giving back to the society is a noble cause that requires support.
