Govt releases over Kshs 9 billion free education money

The government has released a total of Kshs. 9.3 billion free education money to the primary and secondary schools in Kenya.

According to basic  Education and Early learning Principal Secretary (PS) Dr. Julius Juan, out of the amount, Kshs. 6.5 billion will go to secondary schools while the remaining Kshs. 2.8 will go to primary schools.

The PS made the confirmation to Education News after rumours began to spread that the ministry of education had disbursed only 50 percent and not Kshs. 15 billion as school heads had expected.
