KNUT MUMIAS BRANCH FINALY ELECT NEW OFFICIALS

The Kenya National Union of Teachers MUMIAS branch finally conducted it’s branch elections yesterday May 22, 2021 which witnessed where the Current branch Executive Secretary John Wesonga retained his seat as Chairman Rashid Wafula lost his ambition of retaining his seat.


The Branch had for the last few months ago witnessed postponement a situation that resulted in blame game of the two union top leaders acting national chairman Collins Oyuu and the Secretary General Wilson Sossion.


In the election, Fredrick Okang’o was elected the Branch new chairman who will be assisted by Peter Makuba, while the current sitting Treasurer Job Mwanza lost to Joy Kiunguti who will be assisted by Alex Makokha.
Cyprien Sibwire will now be the Branch’s new assistant executive secretary while George Kweyu will now represent People living with disabilities (PWD), in an election that saw John Wesonga’s team  sweeping major branch seats for executive secretary and Assistant, Chairman and Treasurer.


Rashid Wafula’s team got vice chairman, assistant treasurer and PWD seats during the yesterday’s elections.
