Riokindo boys school had the most improved results from KIsii county in the 2020 KSCE examinations.
Announcing the results from Mitihani house on Friday, Education CS Prof George Magoha termed the examination as one of most challenging ones as it was done under confusing circumstances posed by COVID 19.
“However, our candidates braved those hard conditions and performed well,” he said.
Riokindo secondary school topped again from Kisii county. They posted a mean score of 9.3 points up from last year.
According to the principal of the school, Mr Fred Mogaka, the school registered a total of 265 candidates in the examinations.
Out of those,17 scored A- while 99 candidates scored grade B+. In grade B plain, there were 111 students. Other 36 candidates scored Grade B-as the school closed its success graph with 5 candidates only in graded C+.
The principal attributed the great success to the fear of God and teamwork from teachers co-ordinated by his able deputy principal Mr Rufus Nyambati.
Mr Mogaka who was promoted recently to a Senior principal, said the only secret behind success in examination is hard work and determination. He thanked parents and all other stakeholders and promised the school will continue to post impressive results in future.
