Makueni County Kenya Secondary Schools Heads Association (KESSHA) chairman Julius Mutwii has cautioned teachers against having sexual affairs with students.

He expressed concern following numerous reports of teachers including principals being involved in sexual acts with the learners.

Mutwii said teachers are guided by law and code of conduct which must never be bend in favor of any offender.

He called upon the investigative arm of the government and the law enforcement officers to apprehend such people and convict them.

“As teachers, we are parents as well and we have a serious obligation to protect children against any Kenyan adult with ill motives,” Mutwii.

He also warned other men in the society to keep off school girls and boys after reminding them that sexual offence is punishable by law.

On the issue of ghost schools which hit the headlines last month, he observed that it is the Ministry of Education registers schools which should explain because it is the same ministry unearthed their existence.

“It is a criminal act that is the tax-payers money is ending in the pockets of the few,” he riled.
