Nzaui Kenya National Union of Teachers (Knut) branch Executive Secretary Joseph Ngwava has warned candidates that exam cheating undermines all their hard work.

He said all those involved in leaking the exams should face the law.

Speaking at Nzaui Market, Ngwava said the government is trying all it could to ensure sanctity in examinations but there are people trying to negate its efforts by leaking exams.

At the same time, he urged parents to make sure that their children do not play near rivers, stagnant waters for they risk drowning.

He encouraged them to monitor the whereabouts of their children especially during the long holidays.

“This holiday is seven weeks and I call upon the parents to take care of their children. We do not want more school drop outs and pregnancies as it happened before”, added Ngwava.

On teen pregnancies, he said the government should seriously punish those who lure school girls.

He added that the law should be more severe to such offenders since there is no consent in underage.

However, he observed the government should consider increasing money to primary schools to cater for CBC education system adding that assessment exams are too expensive for parents considering the tough economic times.
