Makueni Kuppet officials sweep board

All Kuppet official in Makueni County retained their posts in peaceful elections carried out recently at Sultan Hamud township.

Kuppet Executive Secretary Justus Kimeu thanked all the teachers for retaining all the officials in the just concluded elections.

He said it was a show of trust in them from teachers and appreciated that they been elected unopposed to serve for five more years.

Those re-elected are re-elected were Erastus Kimetu (Chairman), Nicholas Mukula (Vice Chairman), Cosmas Muteti (Treasurer) and Peter Malonza (Vice Treasurer).

 Others are Peter Kioko (Organising Secretary), Janet Mbatha, (Secretary Secondary) Francis Kimiti (Secretary Tertiary) and Boniface Kivunge (Secretary Gender).

The position of Vice Executive Secretary was not filled after the holders died recently.

“The position was left vacant and will be filled in the next AGM through by-election after the head office gives further direction,” added Kimeu.

He said teachers are under attack from students and they should be protected by the government or given firearms to defend themselves.

Kimeu stated that students have become much indisciplined but all the alternative methods have not been exhausted by the teachers.
