KNUT calls for Urgent recruitment of TSC Commissioners

By Amoto Dennis

Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) Secretary General Wilson Sossion has called for the recruitment of TSC commissioners, including the chair.

The commission will be required to recruit the six commissioners, whose terms will expire in March this year. The former chair Lydia Nzomo’s term expired late last year (on November 18th last year).  She became the maiden chair of the commission in 2014 after the TSC was made a constitutional body.

The commission has nine members each representing the defunct provinces. In a letter Wilson Sossion, the KNUT Secretary General called for the speedy preparation to kick start the process of replacing the commissioners.

‘’The communication is therefore to urge you to expatiate the constituting an independent and credible panel to undertake the process of appointing a TSC chair and the other commissioners,’’ reads part of the letter dated 16th February.

The commission was fully constituted in 2015 March after the recruitment and appointment of the chair person and commissioners.
