By Erick Nyayiera

Pain, grief and disbelief engulfed South Sakwa location in Bondo sub-county after the untimely death of a Form Three student who drowned while fetching water.

Festus Odhiambo, 20, was a student at Mitiro Secondary School.

According to one of the villagers identified as Monica, the deceased was epileptic and they suspect to have fallen sick while fetching water.

She stated that the incident was discovered when one out of the three donkeys that he had taken as means of transport returned home and the other two together with him were missing.

According to Monica, the appearance of the donkey without Odhiambo prompted his grandmother to send his siblings to go looking for him who were then shocked to find his lifeless body floating on the water.

It was then that the area assistant chief called the police who took his body to Bondo Sub-County Hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem.
