Some 72 adult education learners in Taita Taveta County have been registered by Education ministry to sit for 2022 Kenya certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) and Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) as private candidates.
Director of adult education, Ms. Christine Nzige told Education News that out the 72 candidates, 12 will sit for Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE), while 60 will sit for Kenya certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE).
She, however, asked teachers in the region to prepare the candidates well in order to post impressive results in the two final national examinations.
“You are therefore duty bound in ensuring that the Syllabus is covered in the required school timetable in order to subject you to unnecessary extra classes”, Nzige told the teachers in the county.
She advised the candidates to study extra hard so as to excel in their final national examinations.
At the same time, the county director of adult education asked parents to enroll their children who dropped out of school in Standard Five and Form Two to literacy centres near them to continue their education.
“Education is the only key to any development undertaking in the developing World,” Nzige noted.
She said the county’s rapid development needs educated people who will be charged with the responsibility of designing, planning and implementing community development projects.
