Graduate Internship Programme (GRIP), a Tana County based CBO has sponsored 65 school leavers for a one-month internship to equip them with skills and knowledge so that they can become self-reliant.
According to the CBO team leader Steve Sandagi, the programme aims to instill further hope in those who didn’t perform well in KCPE and KCSE. The internship and the graduation took place at Life Frontier Primary School in Tana County.
Tana County Education Executive Abass Kunyo said it was imperative for the resident youth to embrace county educational programmes being implemented.
He added the county was committed to uplifting youth, women and the disabled.
One of the beneficiaries of GRIP internship Husna Hassan pleaded with CBO to provide them with funds so as enable them to kick start businesses and be self-employed.
GRIP partners with Life Frontier School to identify and assistmarginalized and vulnerable regions.
