60,769 Grade 6 candidates will sit for Kenya Primary School Examination Assessment (KPSEA) this year, Nakuru County Director of Education (CDE) Victoria Mulili has said.
Mulili noted that the 31,029 boys and 29,733 girls, spread across 1,122 examination centres in the county, will sit for the examination which will run from October 28 to 30, 2024.
Speaking in her office in Nakuru city, the CDE expressed confidence that all the candidates are well prepared to transit to the next level.
The Director also highlighted that 46,586 students will sit for the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) in the county.
The 23,075 boys and 23,511 girls will sit the exams in 480 centres within the county.
Mulili said that a multiagency team drawn from the Ministry of Education, Teachers Service Commission, and National Government Administration Officers (NGAO), have put adequate strategies to ensure the examination process runs smoothly.
The Director added that according to targets they set as a unit, all national schools should get a mean of 10.0 and above, extra county schools should get a mean of 9.0 and above, county schools should get a mean of 8.0 and above while sub-county schools should get a mean of 7.0 and above.
She disclosed that the county’s mantra this year is ‘Get it Done’ and motto is ‘My Education My Future’.
Mulili encouraged all candidates to ensure they try their best to appreciate the work that teachers have put in towards the same and the heavy investment by their parents to finance their education.
“Candidates should be aware that parents have heavily invested in their education, we should do our bets and gets grades that will make our parents proud,” she said.
