56 Kiriita students get sponsorship from MCA

Kiriita Ward MCA Justus Gaita recently flagged off a contingent of 56 youths from across Kiriita to join Milangine Vocational Training Centre.
Speaking in his office, Gaita warned that his ward would not tolerate any complacency from the youths in their studies at the centre as they had put in a lot of efforts to ensure the fruition of the project.
He initiated it to help youths from the less privileged families who had completed their class eight and Form Four studies and had not met the college and university cut-off point.
“Give it your best at the institute .This is your golden opportunity to uplift the livelihoods of your families back at home in the long run. Many would have wanted this chance but unfortunately, luck was not on their side,’’ he said.
Kiriita Ward Assistant County Commissioner Cynthia Godia, who was also present at the event, echoed the remarks of the ward boss as she urged the youths to represent them well at the centre.
“Make good use of this chance you have been granted. Maintain discipline, work hard and remember we expect all of you to come back here and put into practice whatever you would have. Hellen Mumbi, one of the beneficiaries could not hide her joy after seeing her dream of becoming renowned beauty therapist reignited via the MCA’s initiative.
The youths will study courses of their choice at the centre.
Courses include metal fabrication, Building Technology, Electrical Technology, Fashion Design and Garment Making Technology, Motor Vehicle Mechanics, Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy and Information Communication Technology.
Gaita also thanked the Nyandarua County Governor, Francis Kimemia, saying the initiative would never have become a success if it were not for his unwavering support.
