5,489 candidates in Lamu county will sit for 2021 KCPE, KCSE exams

Some 5,489 candidates in Lamu County will sit for 2021 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) and Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) in the region, Education News has reliably established.

Speaking to Education News from Lamu town recently, Lamu County Director of Education Mr. Joshua Kaaga said that out of the 5,489 candidates who will sit for the two national examinations in the county, 3,661 candidates will sit for KCPE while 1,828 will sit for KCSE respectively.

He further added that out of the 3,661 candidates who will sit for KCPE in the region, 1,845 candidates are boys, while 1,816 are girls and out of the 1,828 candidates who will sit for KCSE in the county, 1,005 candidates are boys, while 823 are girls.

The Director of Education however  urged teachers in the county to be dedicated to their work by ensuring that they prepare the candidates well for the two national examinations.

However, Mr. Kaaga asked candidates who have been registered to sit for the examinations to study extra harder in order to post impressive better results in their respective schools.

He revealed that the government has also put measures in place to curb cheating in the forthcoming national examinations.
