500 teachers feted by TSC on World Teachers’ Day

Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has recognized 500 most outstanding teachers during the World Teachers’ Day celebrations held at the Kenya School of Government in Nairobi.

In the category of top public primary schools in 2022 KCPE, the awardees include; Yebei Jackson Kiplimo of AIC Kaptich Primary in Nandi county, Kanga John Mulinge of Masimbani Primary in Kwale county, Emily Tanui of ACK St Luke Primary Biribiriet, Sammy Sawe of Bishop Muge Memorial Primary and Chumba Amos Kiprotich of AIC Cheribisi Primary School in Nandi county.

In the category of top public secondary schools in 2022 KCSE, Onyari Charles of Nyambaria Boys in Nyamira county, Ombiro Albert Otara of Cardinal Otunga Mosocho, Sati Linet Pino of Asumbi Girls in Homa Bay, Kuria John Munyua of Mangu High School in Kiambu and Masibo Simon of St Anthony Boys High School in Trans Nzoia county were awarded.

James Ireri of Kitengela International School in Machakos county, Christopher Omondi Odero of Crystal Hill Academy in Kericho county and Godfrey Mugweru Mwangi of Kitengela International School in Kajiado were awarded in the category of top private schools in KCPE 2022.

In the category of top private secondary schools in 2022 KCSE, John Muthiora of Strathmore School in Nairobi county, Toneni Erick of Rockfields Senior School in Kajiado and Elishebah J. Cheruiyot of Moi High School, Kabarak in Nakuru county were feted.

Further, In the category of top public primary schools in 2022 KCPE per region, the following teachers were rewarded; Paul Karanja Mbugua of Githunguri T/S Boarding Primary School from Central Rehgion, Joseleene Karimi Mugambi of PCEA Kathigiri Boarding Primary School from Eastern, Kanga John Mulinge of Masimbani Primary School from Coast, Yebei JACKSON Kiplimo of AIC Kaptich Primary School of Rift Valley, King’ori Cyrus Mathenya of Utawala Academy from Nairobi, Hassan Adan Gahath from North Eastern, Oginga Hellen Akinyi of Maseno Girls Boarding Primary from Nyanza and Odero Praxidis from Western.

In the top public secondary schools per region in 2022 KCSE category, the following were rewarded; Kuria John Munyua of Mangu High School from Central, Robert Allan Maima of DR. Aggrey High School from Coast, Njoka Nelson Murithi of Matinyan Secondary School from Eastern, Wahome Virginia Wangari of Kenya High from Nairobi, Masibo Simon of St. Anthony Boys from Rift Valley, Ouma Daniel Onyango of Butula Boys from Western, Onyari Charles of Nyambaria High from Nyanza and Mohammed Hassan Omar of Dertu Girls Secondary from North Eastern.

Nzyoka Stephen Ngoma of Utafiti Day and Boarding Primary School from Makueni County, Odero Praxidis Nyarotso of St. Peters B Mumias from Kakamega County, Kurgatt Charles Kimutai of Tenwek Boarding Primary from Bomet County, Jerotich Getrude from Nandi Hills Primary in Nandi County and Magut Isaac Kipruto from St. Mathews Septonok in Nandi County were awarded in the category of most consistent public primary schools nationally in 2022 KCPE.

In the most consistent public secondary schools nationally in 2022 KCSE, the following teachers were awarded; Maiyo Sammy Kipchumba from Kapsabet Boys in Nandi County, Kuria John Munyua from Mangu High School in Kiambu County, Wahome Virginia Wangari from Kenya High in Nairobi, Kamau David Chomba from Alliance High School in Kiambu and Makhanu Inviolata from St. Brigids Kiminini in Trans Nzoia County.

Furthermore, Connie Mutiso from Kiambu Special School, John Kobia Kinoli from Isiolo School for the Deaf, John Baya Bansa from Makoba Special School in Kilifi, Benjamin Kiptarus from Eldoret School for Hearing Impared in Uasin Gishu, Adhiambo Yashon Odhiambo from Maraba Special School in Kisumu and Peter Sitienei from Kaaga School for the deaf were awarded in the hearing impairment category.

In the category of East Africa Championship, the following received awards: Kigai Stephen Kwemoi from Nyamira Girls in Siaya, Simon Mwaniki from Nyamweru Girls in Kiambu, Jason Melly from Kipsigak High in Nandi, Stephen Sitati Mutaki from Namwela Boys High School in Bungoma, Justin Ntwiga Kigwari from Kwanthanze Secondary School in Machakos, Walieli Okwemba Eliud from Koyonzo Boys in Kakamega, Benson Wabuyabo from Musingu High School in Kakamega, John Lusaka Khamala from St. Joseph Kitale in Transzoia, Libondo Fredrick Shimenga from Butula Boys in Busia, Edgar Manyara from Wiyeta Girls in Transzoia, John Khamala from Kesogon Girls, Abdalla Luqmaan Abubakar from Vihiga High School in Vihiga, Kevin Lugalia from St. Anthony’s Kitale Secondary in Transzoia, Wawire Moses Erima from Tigoi Girls in Vihiga, Shadrack Nyongesa from St. Anthony’s Kitale Boys in Trans Zoia, Gordon Ogutu Otii from Onjiko High School in Kisumu and Otula Clement Obare from Ototo Mixed in Homabay.

Additionally, in the African Championship category, Justin Ntwiga Kigwari from Kwanthanze Secondary School in Machakos was awarded.

In other categories, the following were awarded: Naomi Nancy Nakhumicha for climate change champion 2023 in from Kakamega County, Rachel Moraa Omwenga received recognition for President’s Award OGW July 2022 from Nyamira County, Kamau John Ndingiri for Young Scientist of Kenya Award from Taita Taveta, Wafula Elias Mwanja for Young Scientist of Kenya Award from Kakamega, Owland Masaria Kavirore for Young Scientist of Kenya from Vihiga, Mutinda Judith Kanini for Young Scientist of Kenya Award from Kilifi and Marshall Onyango for Young Scientist of Kenya Award from Migori.

In the international school category, David Dunn for Continuity of Kaisso from Nairobi County, Catherine Kawira Muthee for use of ICT to teach Kiswahili also from Nairobi and Sheila Madahana for convening the Kais Rhino Cup debate challenge from the same county.

At the new 4K Club category, the following teachers were recognized: Joseph Silali from Amagoro Primary School for 4K club presidential, Tsofa Kazungu from Mazeras Maua Primary School also for 4K club presidential, Michael Nyaga Simon from St. Lukes School for the deaf for 4K club presidential and Munyao Mbondo from Nairobi Primary School for tree planting champion.
