The Ministry of Education through school equipment production unit has handed over science equipment to 48 primary schools in Webuye East Sub-county.
Speaking after receiving the equipment, sub-county education officer Paul Rono said the equipment will help boost implementation of Competency Based Curriculum (CBC) in schools.
“The science equipment will also provide a platform to have learners nurture their talents,” said the education boss.

He further disclosed that out of 61 primary schools in the sub-county only 48 will receive the equipment.
“The remaining schools will wait for the next phase,” he noted.
School equipment production unit was represented by Allan Weche who noted that it is the Government duty to empower schools in order to implement CBC.
He also said that teachers will undergo a short training on how to effectively use the equipment.
At the same time Kenya Primary School Heads Association Chairperson Patrick Musinai lauded the Government for the noble progress of providing equipment.
However, he expressed his fears that some schools have pathetic infrastructure and security of the equipment is at risk.
He spoke on behalf of school heads in Webuye East Sub-county.
