400 benefit from ETTI’s scholarship programme

400 students have benefitted from a scholarship programme under an initiative by Eldoret Technical Training Institute (ETTI) that targets students in need of financial aid.

Speaking during a recent graduation, College Principal Dr. Albert Boss added that a majority of those needy students under the programme had secured employment in various organizations across the country.

Boss said the programme was on its fifth year since inception and that it had been immensely successful.

The Principal also stated that the college has over the years managed to train students who take up digital careers alongside their main courses which ensure that students thrive well in all sectors of the economy.

“The college supports and facilitates students to access and paid or voluntary employment, internship and internship programs. Students hence gain experience, acquire new skills, explore career interests and even network.

“Through the initiative, majority of our students have secured decent employment opportunities,” Dr. Boss said, adding that they will continue fostering collaborations with the industry players and other key stakeholders to enhance career growth.

He pointed out that they have partnered with different examinations bodies which include ICM, KNEC, AMREF, AMRO-KENYA, IATA, KASNEB and KNDI, AMRO and KVB which gives students different exposures in examination and the field of career.

He noted that the college has a research and demonstration farm that is used by students pursuing agriculture and animal health courses as well as fully equipped computer labs to ensure smooth learning of ICT. He said that that they have workshops for engineering disciplines and a modern equipped for journalism trainees.

The leader added that accommodation is provided for all students from upcountry at a cost friendly fee, covering all costs including food, recreational activities such as DSTV and transport to and from school.
