Four teachers, including the Centre Manager and three invigilators from Bombaba Secondary School in Bomachoge Chache, Kisii County, have been apprehended in connection with cheating during the ongoing KCSE examinations.

According to Kisii County Police Commander Charles Keses, the individuals were caught red-handed with Geography question and answer papers.

Keses mentioned that the police acted swiftly based on information received from the public. Detectives visited the examination centre promptly and made the arrests on Wednesday afternoon.

“The suspects, found behind the examination room, were allegedly in possession of unauthorized examination materials meant to assist the candidates,” he stated.

Following their apprehension, the four teachers were taken to the Kisii Police Station to provide statements and cooperate with the police in further investigations.

This incident follows a similar one two weeks ago, where a female private candidate at Nyanchwa Boys High School was discovered with a mobile phone used to transmit answers for the Mathematics portion of the KCSE examinations.

Additionally, at Daraja Mbili Secondary School, another examination-related incident occurred, leading to the arrest of the principal.

The principal was taken into custody for failing to report a candidate who used a mobile phone to access examination papers before the designated time.

After spending a night in the cell at Nyanchwa Police Station, the principal was released on bond.
