The County government of Nyamira has revealed that it seeks to construct four extra classrooms for Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE) pupils within Keroka town and its environs.
The initiative championed by Governor Amos Nyaribo is aimed at beefing up the sector as well dealing with overcrowding of pupils in schools.
The county boss while addressing the residents in Keroka town on Tuesday, where he commissioned a 1.5 kilometre bituminous road at the back streets of the town’s municipality, an ablution block, market, water points and erection of two high masts revealed that the move is in response to the resident’s outcry over neglect of the sector.

“Parents who made requests to get these essential services came to my office and today I have come here to fulfil the promise I made to them, “he said.
He said that quality education and good roads network go hand in hand and revealed his commitment to ensure these services are available in the county.
He told the residents to take responsibility for the huge project that will cost Ksh178 million, saying that part of the money will be used to construct four classrooms in each of the four Wards touching the municipality.
