Some 308 adult education learners in Mombasa County have been registered by the Ministry of Education to sit for the 2024 KCSE in the region as private candidates.

According to Mombasa County Director of Adult Education, Franklin Karanja, out of the 308 candidates who have been registered to sit for the KCSE in the county, 178 are male candidates, while 130 are female candidates.

He further advised the candidates to ensure that they study extra hard in order to record impressive performance.

At the same time, Karanja asked parents in the county to enrol their children who dropped out of school in form one to adult secondary schools to continue with their education.

He told parents to take education of their youth seriously so as to reduce illiteracy rate in the county.

“Education is the only key factor to accelerate development in the country,” the director explained.

He, however, noted that the county’s rapid development actually needed educated people who will be charged with the responsibility of planning, designing and implementing development projects.
