The area MP, Dr Joseph Cherorot said the NG-CDF had set aside Ksh16.7 million for the projects that were meant to accommodate the JSS learners and their teachers.

“ I am proud to announce that we have set aside Ksh16.7 million for the construction of 21 new classrooms in Kipkelion East Constituency. This will greatly ease the lack of learning facilities for the Junior Secondary School learners and their teachers, “he said at Chesinende Secondary School during the launching of a Multi-Purpose hall recently.

The MP said out of the total amount, each school will get Ksh 1.2 million where Ksh I million will be for constructions of the classrooms while the remaining Ksh 200,000 will be utilised to purchase desks and chairs.

He further said that the NG-CDF had also set aside Ksh17.7 million for the construction of several multi-purpose halls in various schools, including Chebewor Secondary which has been allocated Ksh4.5 million, Baraka Secondary got Ksh 4 million, and Finch was funded with Ksh 3.8 million.

He said, “The purpose of building these multi-purpose halls is that they enable execution of dual activities like holding of indoor games, meetings, prayers and become useful during closing ceremonies like today.”

The legislator castigated efforts by courts to halt the operations of the NG-CDF in the country saying the benefits of the fund to the society cannot be gainsaid.

“Since the introduction of the NG-CDF, communities all over country have benefitted immensely and any effort to remove it will be counterproductive to the development of various sectors and especially educational development,” he added.
