MP pledges to ensure transparency in CDF bursary distribution

Tetu MP Gichuhi Mwangi has promised to ensure transparency in the allocation of Constituency Development Fund (CDF) bursaries.
Mwangi said thousands of needy learners do no benefit from the kitty, which was set up to help those who cannot raise school fees access education promising that this will not be tolerated in his term. “We should adhere to the law and give priority to the needy cases not children from able families,” he said.
Accompanied by Nyeri County Woman Rep Rahab Mukami during the prize giving day of Kangaita Primary in Tetu, he said he will ensure fair distribution in his constituency.
On her part, Mukami said Nyeri leaders have come up with measures to ensure education level is improved in the county and advised students not to succumb to peer pressure.
“Many students leave secondary schools while disciplined but they change when they join universities due to peer pressure,” she said.
She advised schools to ensure that there is counselling cum motivational programmes talks to inspire learners. The leaders also promised to improve the school infrastructure in the area.
