Kilifi South MP Ken Chonga (pictured) has announced the formation of an Education Trust Fund in his constituency to address the high rate of children not transiting to secondary schools and tertiary institutions after their primary level education.
Speaking at Silala village in Mwarakaya Ward when he hosted 150 students called to join various national schools, he announced a four-year full scholarship to the students, but warned them that their scholarships will be terminated if they fail to perform in their schools.
“We have a big problem in Kilifi South Constituency where every year, bright and needy students fail to proceed to secondary schools because of lack of school fees. It is for this reason that we have formed the Kilifi South Education Trust Fund to address this problem,” Chonga said.
Former Wundanyi MP Thomas Mwadeghu who was the chief guest told the students to focus on their education.
