Battle of champions as secondary school football games in Kakamega enter semis stage

Musingu and Kakamega schools football players battle it out in the Kakamega County Secondary School games at Bungoma on July 3.

Kakamega County Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) Term Two ball games semis football will feature defending champions and past national winners.

The championships are taking place in Mumias and are scheduled to end this weekend.

Musingu High School who are Kakamega County defending champions will face Lugusi from Kakamega North Sub-county.

Shanderema Secondary who are Western region defending champions will contend with Munyuki in other semis.

In girls’ category, Butere Girls who are National and Kakamega County defending champions will battle it out with Musoli Girls while Archbishop Njenga Girls who are former National champions will play Mwitoti Girls.

All semis matches are taking place today.

The games also feature volleyball, rugby and basketball.

Below are the results for quarter –final matches that were held yesterday.

Musoli 1-0 Kimang’eti

Mwitoti 1-0 mwira

Arc Bishop Njenga Girls Lugari 2-0 Sivile

Butere 1-0 Mukumu.

Boys

Lugusi 1(4)-(2) 1 Butere

Munyuki from Lugari 0(4)-(2)Emanani

Musingu 2-0 St Peters

Shanderema 0(5)-(4)0 Chebuyusi
