By Joseph Mambili

Amina Mohamed has been nominated as the Cabinet Secretary for Education.

President Uhuru Kenyatta named the partial Cabinet in the State House on Friday, January 26.

Permanent Secretary for Learning and Basic Education is Dr Belio Sang while Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) will be Simon Kachapin.

New position of CAS has been created to help in administrative issues.

Amina has been the CS for Foreign Affairs in the last five years and has been replaced by Monica Juma.

Amina takes over from Dr Fred Matiangi who is now in Charge of Internal Security.

Matiang’i has initiated a lot of reforms in the education sector and many will see if Amina will maintain the same tempo.

They will be vetted by Parliament for approval.
