Why students perform poorly in science, language subjects

Negative attitude towards Science subjects, English Language and Mathematics by Coast region secondary school students has been identified as a major stumbling block to academic advancement in the region.
Professor Gabiel Katana Gona of Pwani University decried the poor performance in Science subjects in national examinations.
He urged the students in the area to change their attitudes for the better, pointing out that there is no short cut to academic excellence. Prof. Gona told the students to take Science subjects seriously.
