Schools in Lamu get Sh4.4m for infrastructure

Twelve schools in Lamu County have received Sh14.4 million from the National Government for infrastructure expansion.
The money will be used to construct classrooms and laboratories.
Head of the institutions have been directed to notify their Board of Management (BOM) and use government procurement systems with County Directors of Education to supervising the multi-million shillings projects.
Lamu East Sub-county Director of Education, David Kambi warned principals to ensure they use the resources effectively.
Out of the 12 schools which received the funds, 8 are primary schools which received Sh300,000 each, while four are secondary schools which received Sh3 million each.
The four secondary schools are Faza, Kizingitini, Siyu and Kiunga.
