Screen students before admission, schools told

By Enock Okong’o.

Kisii County Director of Education, Dr. William Sugut has asked teachers to cross check students’ background before admitting them in their schools.
Dr. Sugut gave the advice in an interview with Education News.
He said it is important to find out if a prospective student has a criminal background before being accepted in the school.
Sugut said this has come about after increasing instances of school violence, a number that have been highly publicized.
“In an effort to quell anxiety on the part of prospective students, parents and others, many schools should inquire into prospective students’ criminal pasts”, said Sugut.
