The vice chancellor of Pioneer International University, Dr. Gideon Maina has advised parents to inculcate good moral values in their children in order to secure their future and build a better Kenya.
Dr. Maina said “the primary responsibility of parents is to take good care of their children morally.
He said the best way for parents and guardians to guard against delinquency in children was to inculcate good moral value in them.
Dr. Maina argues that a good value in a population is the software which will strengthen the people to get rid of ills engulfing the country. According to him, decadence and waywardness among children of nowadays is as a result of poor parental care.
He advised parents to make it as a responsibility to be a ‘mirror’ to their children, adding that they deserved special care.
The VC said that efforts to entrench integrity in the constitution as a value in leadership is not bearing fruits because a culture to inject the process in the mindset of the society is lacking.
He spoke at Muchugucha School for the Hearing Impaired in Muranga East Sub County during a prize giving ceremony.
