Teachers to down tools if salaries not paid in full

By Godfrey Wamalwa.

Teachers are threatening to abandon classes at the beginning of Second Term if the Government will not adhere to the terms that were agreed upon in the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
Bungoma South Branch Executive Secretary, Ken Nganga said although the Ministry of Education and Teachers Service Commission (TSC) have urged teachers to stay calm since last year, it looks like nothing is being done on their payroll.
“We want to tell the Government that teachers will not open schools in second term; we shall ensure there is voter apathy in the country so that those moving around seeking votes are not elected for failing to deliver to the electorate what they promised,” he added.
