Some teachers have been interdicted for their failure to adhere to education policy regulations.
This was said by Kenya Primary School Head Teachers Association (KEPSHA) National Chairman, Shem Ndolo at the Eastern Region Conference held in Isebania, Migori County
Ndolo said regulations are very clear and wondered why many teachers failed to follow them. He cited outlawed corporal punishment as one of the most violated policy.
He said caning children and other forms of punishment violate children’s rights.
Other issues that have led to interdictions included forcing children to repeat classes and unauthorized money collections,
He told Head teachers drawn from Kitui, Makweni, Machakos, Meru, Embu and Tharaka Nithi counties.
The conference was graced by Chairman KEPSHA Eastern region Mavuta David who is also the national secretary general.
