Teachers to get promotions based on track record

Teachers upgrading their education levels will have to improve on their performance to earn promotions.
Teachers Service Commission (TSC) Chairperson, Dr Lydia Nzomo has said acquiring a certificate or long service was not enough to guarantee promotion.
The TSC chairperson who was speaking in Nakuru during Central Region Kenya Primary School Head Teachers Association (KEPSHA) Annual
Delegates Meeting said performance was key to promotions. Nzomo acknowledged the biting teachers shortage in public schools and called on sub-county TSC officials to ensure there is proper distribution of the available teachers in all schools for equity.
She said TSC was working hard to ensure the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) is fully implemented beginning July this year.
Nicholas Gathemia, KEPSHA Central Region chairperson said teachers were ready to work with TSC to improve education standards.
