Teachers upgrading their education levels will have to improve on their performance to earn promotions.
Teachers Service Commission (TSC) Chairperson, Dr Lydia Nzomo has said acquiring a certificate or long service was not enough to guarantee promotion.
The TSC chairperson who was speaking in Nakuru during Central Region Kenya Primary School Head Teachers Association (KEPSHA) Annual
Delegates Meeting said performance was key to promotions. Nzomo acknowledged the biting teachers shortage in public schools and called on sub-county TSC officials to ensure there is proper distribution of the available teachers in all schools for equity.
