Take children to school, parents told

By Our Reporter.

Parents in Kwale County have been urged to take all school age children to school irrespective of gender.
Speaking to Education News in Ukunda town after attending KEPSHA, Coast regional conference held at Kenya Wild Life conference Hall in Ukunda town recently, the new Kwale County director of education, Ms Bridget Wambua (pictured) said the Government had introduced free primary school education to benefit all children.
She warned that parents who refuse to take their children to school without any apparent reason would be arrested and charged. “Local education stakeholders must work as a team to improve education standards,” she noted.
The director, however, attributed dismal performance in national examinations in the area to lack of learning facilities.
