County raises bursary fund to Sh170million

By Martin Ruto.

The County Government has increased tertiary and secondary bursary funds to Sh170 million from Sh50 million four years ago.
Governor, Simon Kachapin (pictured) said this is intended to boost education standards, enhance transition rates and reteain students in school.

The governor made the remarks in a speech delivered during West Pokot County 2016 KCSE and KCPE Prize Giving Day at Sigor Mixed Primary School in Pokot Central Sub-County.
All the four sub-Counties namely; West Pokot, Pokot Central, Pokot South and Pokot North were represented.
